Review Unity 6, operating-system, serialization, render-pipeline, coexistence, and Core release boundaries.
Asset Swap 26.9.0 targets Unity 6 starting at 6000.0.79f1. Earlier Unity 6000.0 patches are outside the supported floor because both official 6000.0.0f1 macOS editor packages fail strict editor-bundle signature validation on the release host.
The release matrix covers:
- Unity
6000.0.79f1on macOS - Unity
6000.4.0f1ASCII, NFC, and NFD project roots before and after clean reimport on macOS - Unity
6000.0.79f1on Windows and Linux - Unity
6000.5.6f1compatibility on macOS - Force Text and Mixed asset serialization
- domain reload enabled and disabled
- optional integrations absent and present
- fresh install, update, and reimport
- coexistence with Release Guard and Performance Lab in every installation order
The editor UI supports Built-in, URP, and HDRP projects because reference processing is render-pipeline independent. The product ships no runtime assembly or player content.
Unity 6000.4.x on macOS cannot reliably persist a model-importer external-object remap when that imported asset's own project-relative path is registered with a canonically different Unicode spelling. Asset Swap reports that exact occurrence as Unsupported during Preview and makes no mutation. Move the imported asset to an ASCII-only project-relative path or use another supported editor version, then run Preview again. Other structured references remain covered under Unicode project roots, and canonically ambiguous duplicate paths always block instead of being guessed.
Asset Swap 26.9.0 requires the exact bundled internal com.kiwistudios.releasecore 26.8.5 component at Core API level 1 and evidence schema 1. Release validation resolves only the archive recorded by the repository release lock; a modified, mismatched, or provisional Core source tree is never substituted silently. Release Core is installed and owned through Asset Swap or another compatible Kiwi product, not published or downloaded as a standalone product.
